BMW is set to launch the new 5 Series in India on July 24. Targeting the E-Class LWB, the new BMW 5 Series will be available in a long wheelbase version for the first time in India. Similar to the E-Class LWB, India will be the second market after China to receive the 5 Series LWB.
BMW 5 Series Design and Dimensions
The latest-generation BMW 5 Series LWB measures 5, 175mm in length, 1, 900mm in width, and 1, 520mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3, 105mm. This makes it 145mm longer overall than the regular 5 Series sedan, with 110mm of that extra length contributing to the wheelbase. While these dimensions are for the Chinese model, some country-specific changes like a right-hand drive setup and slightly higher ground clearance are expected for India.
The new 5 Series LWB retains the design of the standard model, with the extended length being the most noticeable difference, akin to the 3 Series Grand Limousine sold in India. Unlike the E-Class LWB, which features a separate quarter glass and unique door design, the 5 Series LWB’s rear door mirrors the standard model without a rear quarter glass.
