The idea to manufacture India's long-pursued lore of silk, wool, and Kashmiri carpets was executed by Late Shree. Niranjan Lal Ji Gupta. Niranjan Ji dreamt to spread India's culture (Kashmiri carpets) world-wide. He believed in uniting traditions and was a rooted person. He was skilled with the art of hand-knotting carpets and trained his journeymen himself to deliver elite and genuine Kashmiri carpets. Before he knew, his business flourished and Harsh Carpets had already set up thousands of looms all over India including Rajashthan, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, and more. Along the way, he gave employment opportunities to hundreds of unoccupied men and women who are still continuing their practices at Harsh Carpets. He sowed the seed for Harsh carpets in the 1980s which was later taken forth by his son, Ravi Kumar Gupta. Starting as a manufacturer, now Harsh Carpets have their own retail warehouse at New Delhi, India.
