Why is coating required?

There are two coating systems currently preferred-
1. Anodizing
It is a relatively old electrochemical process which has been used since centuries to increase the thickness of Aluminum oxide layer on the base. The coating makes the metal durable and corrosion resistant. It can never flake off.
2. Powder Coating
Typically used to add a decorative feel, it electrostatically charges a powder of resin and pigment sprays it onto the extruded metal surface and provides a smooth coating.
