Sparrows are generally small sized bird with a plump structure is available in almost all the parts of the country. It is a wild bird and is always there in the neighbourhood .It has a white base the bottom and the upper body is covered with dark brown colour feathers and is often seen hopping on the balcony railing .It survives on grains, small insects and tiny creatures. The song sparrow knob is similar to the sparrow bird .The only difference being that the song sparrow is often seen singing melodious notes which he or she picks up from the neighbouring bird. She is then seen singing the same tone with a slight variation which marks his or her territory .The shape of the bird is boat shaped which allows easy flying in the open sky. The male sparrow has a broad head whereas the female sparrow has a narrow head. The male is distinguished by the dark colour whereas the light brown colour determines the female sparrow. The male sparrow collects twigs, dried leaves and dried grass to the female partner who builds a nest for laying down the eggs. The eggs are then hatched and the chicks come out and are fed by the mother sparrow. The song sparrow learns a few notes for which he has varied combinations and the female sparrow identifies her mate listing to the note. The ceramic knob has the actual shape of the song bird in dark beige colour with the detail quite visible. Though by seeing the knob we cannot determine the gender of the bird.
