The “DWHC/DMS” – Deepwater MS was developed in support of increased bending needs in moderate to deepwater applications where the traditional 4.0MM bending provided by MS-700/HC & HC-2 needed to be increased. Based on our MS-700 system, the DWHC/DMS-700 combines a part of higher bending technology designed into SMS, with standard MS-700 capacities. The HC-2 tapered sockets bending capacity combines with the DMS H-4 Mandrel technology to provide today’s state of the art, industry leading wellhead connector H-4 profile with metal sealing (MS) capabilities.
The DWHC replaces the DMS to give us our Deepwater 5.25M bending system.
HC-2 remains available at 4.0M bending for use at its respective ratings.
The DWHC MS-700 technology is functionally similar and often, where it is a
passive technology, it is the same as used in the MS-800 system.
Many of the running tools are interchangeable between the systems.
The sub mudline 18” Casing Hanger is not present in the DWHC MS-700 system.
The DWHC & MS-800 sub mudline 16” Casing Hangers are uniquely different
from each other not only in function, but rating & capacity as well.
Both the DWHC & MS systems can be used with the various guidance and seabed support system available.
DWHC-700 System Features
“DWHC = Deepwater High Capacity (i.e. our standard deepwater rated bending system- 5.25MM lbs.)
“MS” = Metal to metal sealing – (MTM)
“700” = a certified 7.0 million lbs. load capacity
3.0 MM lbs. casing weight plus,
3.0 MM lbs from 15, 000 psi internal pressure
Mandrel Size = 27” Diameter
H-4 Compatibility = DWHD & SHD with 27” Kit.
