Kareri Lake is a high altitude, shallow, fresh water lake south of the Dhauladhar range approximately 9 km North West of Dharamsala in Kangra district, Himachal Pradesh. Its surface is 2934 metres above the sea level. Kareri lake is best known for being a trekking destination in the Dhauladhars.
Snow melting from the Dhauladhar range serves as the source of the lake and a stream, Nyund is the outflow. Since the source is fresh melting snow and the lake is shallow, water visibility is very high and in most places, the lake bed can be seen.Kareri Lake is named after the nearby gaddi village of Kareri, situated 9 km south east of the lake.Kareri Lake is not connected by a road. The closest roadhead is at Ghera, a village near Dharamshala. From Ghera, a hiking trail leads to Kareri village, which is 3 km from Ghera. Another hiking trail of 13 km from Kareri leads to the lake. Most of this trail is along the Nyund stream right up to the lake.
Day 01: 30 MAY - Boarding from CP-Hotel Cannaught at 9 pm in Tempo Traveller.
Day02: 31 MAY - After an Overnight journey of 10-12 hrs reaching McLeodganj by 8 am.
Tempo will drop group at the last motorable point, then the group will de board and assemble there small backpack (20-30lts) and will start the Trek towards Kareri Village-(7-8kms)1800mts
The trek goes through the pine forests and crosses several tribal villages on the way. Kareri is a tribal village.
After some rest and refreshments at Kareri Village group will start for - Kareri lake (3300 M) 8-9 kms
Trail goes through mixed forests of oak, group will reach at lake by 7-8 pm which will be our camping site.
Camps will already pitched there, as the group will reach

Day 03: 1st June Day will start with a lazy morning followed by morning tea and breakfast.
By 10 am group will start there descent towards Mcleodganj (TempoTraveller) group will reach down by 6 pm then after having god hot food at McLeodganj, group will start there backward journey towards Delhi.
Day04: 2 June-Group will reach Delhi by 7 am, Tours ends Here.
